Tariq Kirmani has more than 45 years of multifaceted experience in the corporate sector, both domestic and international. He started his career with a multinational oil company (Caltex – later Chevron Pakistan) in 1969 and worked for seven years in the United States, United Arab Emirates and Australia in different senior management positions in marketing, operations and finance. In 1991, he became the first Pakistani to be elected as a Director of the company.
Currently, he is serving as the Chairman of the National Academy of Performing Arts (NAPA) and Punjab Energy Holding Company (Pvt.) Ltd. He is also serving as a Director on the Boards of Pakistan International Airlines Corporation, Professional Education Foundation, Family Educational Services Foundation and Gas & Oil Pakistan Ltd.
During his career, he has served as the Managing Director of Pakistan State Oil and Chairman & CEO of Pakistan International Airlines Corporation. He also served as the Chairman of Greenstar Social Marketing, United Bank Limited Fund Managers and Oil Companies Advisory Council.
He has previously served on a number of Boards of multinational and public sector companies such as Pakistan Refinery Limited, Pak-Arab Pipeline Company Limited, Pakistan State Cement Corporation, Pakistan Telecommunications Limited, Pakistan Private Infrastructure Board, Board of Governors in LUMS, Lahore and National Bank of Pakistan.
