Important Note:
Classes at NAPA run on a trimester system i.e. the academic session is divided into three terms
(January-March, May-July, September-November)


Eligibility Criteria

 
o The minimum age for application is 17 years
   
o Applicants should hold an A-Level or Intermediate certificate, or its equivalent, from a recognized academic institution
   
o Applicants with prior exposure in the chosen field will be given preference
               
Application Forms
o The deadline for applicants wishing to be admitted for the 2007-2009 Diploma course is 18 December 2006 at 06:00 p.m.
   
o Application Forms may be collected from the NAPA premises during office hours (12:00 p.m. to 06:00 p.m. on weekdays)
   
o A non-refundable application fee of Rs.500 is payable at the time of collection of Application Forms
   
o When submitting Application Forms, applicants must bring with them:
 
- original NIC and two photocopies
- attested copies, as well as originals (for    verification), of all required documents
- six passport size photographs
           
o Incomplete applications will not be considered
   
o Applicants who pass the first stage of screening will be called for an audition
        
                       
AUDITIONS
   
General Information
   
o Auditions will be scheduled by NAPA; applicants are expected to be punctual and register their arrival to avoid cancellation
   
o Each performance piece must be 2 to 3 minutes in duration
   
o Auditions will be followed by a brief interview/question and answer session
   
   
Music Department
   
o All auditions must be live; no recorded material or accompaniment is permitted
   
o Live tabla and harmonium accompaniment will be available if required
   
  Vocal Candidates
   
  Candidates must perform at least one song of their choice (2-3 min. duration)
   
  Instrumental Candidates
   
o Candidates must perform one live piece (2-3 min. duration) on an instrument of their choice
   
o With the exception of piano applicants, candidates are required to bring their own instrument for audition
   
   
Theatre Arts Department
   
o Candidates must memorize and perform two monologues (2-3 min. each in duration), one of their own selection and one from the selection provided by NAPA
   
o NAPA's selection of monologues will be provided to candidates once they have been cleared for an audition; these monologues are all in Urdu
   
o The monologue selected by the student may be in Urdu or English and should preferably contrast in style with the first
   
Accepted Students
   
o A list of accepted students will be posted on the NAPA premises on Wednesday, 3rd January 2007
   
o All registration fees and fees for the first trimester must be paid in full prior to commencement of classes
   
o Classes for the 2007-2009 Diploma course will commence on 08 January 2007
   
Fee Structure
   
o All fees are payable in advance via cash or cheque at the Administration Office
   
o All fees, once paid, are non refundable
   
o Application Fees Rs. 500
   
o Registration Fees Rs. 1,000
   
o Fee per Trimester Rs. 6,000
